Year 3 travel back to the Stone Age!

As part of our topic on the Stone Age, we have been doing lots of exciting activities in Year 3. We became hunter-gatherers for a day which meant that our first priority was to buildĀ a shelter. After that, our tummies were starting to rumble – there were no wild mammoths for us to hunt so we decided to gather some wild berries. We then cooked these berries to make some delicious stewed fruit. Meanwhile, some of us had a go at making some Stone Age tools. Mrs Beveridge showed us her special flint which is 1000s of years old. We also had a go at making flour by grinding some barley seeds using two stones. Altogether we have been very busy! Where will the Stone Age take us to next? …
